Library
Precious Unani Medical College has a well-organized library managed by a qualified librarian and supported by efficient staff. Students have access to e-books and e-journals through the HELINET consortium of the Digital Library at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The library subscribes to key Unani and medical journals published in India and internationally. Separate departmental libraries and a small library in the hostel with essential textbooks are also available. A dedicated library and study room with reference materials are provided in the P.G. Block for advanced learning.
Out Patient Department
The Precious Unani Medical College Hospital's Out Patient Department (OPD) is equipped with consultation rooms, screening areas, a dispensing room, and a clinical laboratory. Basic investigations, including Biochemistry, Hematology, Pathology, and Microbiology tests, are conducted. Key lab services include:
- Biochemistry: Blood glucose, Lipid profile, Urea, SGOT, SGPT
- Hematology: Hemoglobin, Platelet count, TLC, MCHC
- Pathology: Urine analysis, Stool examination, Pregnancy tests
Students undergo well-structured clinical training, including case-taking, analysis, and management. The OPD and IPD are designed to support Unani medical education with an emphasis on practical learning. Outreach services include community health centers and correspondence treatment facilities benefiting patients from India and abroad.
In Patient Department
The attached hospital offers 52 inpatient beds, allocated across key departments such as Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry. Advanced diagnostic facilities like clinical laboratories, radiology, and ultrasound ensure comprehensive patient care and practical training for students.
Lecture Halls
Precious Unani Medical College features seven modern lecture halls, each accommodating 125 students and equipped with LCD projectors, OHPs, public address systems, and ICT resources to facilitate interactive learning.
Botanical Garden
The college maintains a botanical garden with over 300 varieties of medicinal plants, providing students with hands-on experience in identifying and studying Unani medicinal plants. This facility allows students to deepen their understanding of Unani pharmacognosy by interacting directly with the plants, enhancing their practical knowledge.
